Why choose LED bathroom light bulbs over halogen?
LED bulbs use far less energy, emit less heat (important in a small bathroom), last longer, and are often available in IP-rated or damp-rated versions. That makes them a good fit for bathroom lighting tasks and general lighting alike.
What size/wattage bulb do I pick for bathroom ceiling lights?
Instead of focusing purely on wattage, look at lumens (light output) and compatibility with the fitting. For example a 12 W LED might provide 900 lm. Always match the bulb cap type (E27, GU10, etc) and check the fitting’s max wattage.
How many lumens do I need for a bathroom light?
As a guideline, aim for about 300–500 lm for a small ensuite sink area, and 600–1000 lm or more for a larger bathroom ceiling light, especially with no natural light. Check the fitting’s output and choose a bulb (or integrated LED) accordingly.
