How Does a Drainage Channel Work?
Drainage channels work by removing surface water away from a given area. They’re often installed around a patio, driveway or garden to prevent flooding caused by rainwater. A drainage channel is usually a ground-level grate with a pipe underneath to carry the water away. Drainage channel grates have the advantage of draining along their entire length, so more significant volumes of water can be removed faster than with a single gully drain. The pipe and grate in a drainage channel tend to be made from plastic, a durable and non-corrosive material.
