Universal Roof Bars
Universal roof bars are easy to install on any vehicle with roof railings. Roof bars are more discreet than traditional roof racks, fitted parallel to the car, giving a more streamlined appearance. They’re ideal for carrying lightweight loads, such as ladders or piping. What roof bars fit my car or van?
Car roof bars vary in sizes depending on the make and model. When searching for roof bars, make sure you’ve got your vehicle’s make, model and year of manufacture handy – these three key pieces of information will be displayed in any roof bar listing.
If your vehicle already has factory-fitted roof rails, universal roof bars are a reliable option that can be easily attached.
How to fit roof bars
Choose roof bars that are compatible with your car or van’s make, model and year. Find the manufacturer’s mounting points on the vehicle’s roof, and fit the mounting brackets. Then, position the roof bars onto the brackets and tighten everything securely. Always read the instructions thoroughly before attempting any work, and follow every step of the installation guide.
Are roof bars universal?
Universal roof bars are available, but many will require your vehicle to already have factory-fitted roof rails. If you don’t have any railings, you’ll need to find a roof rack that’s compatible with your van or car’s make, model and year.
