How To Paint Tiles

As well as the tools and equipment listed below, you will also need a bowl of water to dilute the sugar soap.
Step 1: Prepare the Tiles

Dilute sugar soap in warm water with a ratio of 1 part sugar soap to 10 parts water.

Using a sponge, apply the sugar soap solution and scrub the tiles to remove grime and grease.

Rinse the tiles with clean water and a cloth, then dry them thoroughly.
Step 2: Sand the Tiles

Lightly sand the surface of the tiles with fine sandpaper.

Focus on removing the glossy finish to help the paint adhere better.

Wipe off any dust after sanding.
Step 3: Apply the First Coat of Paint

Apply a small amount of high quality tile paint to the centre of the tile.

Spread the paint evenly across the tile with a brush or roller.

Make sure to paint in the same direction for a neat, uniform look.
Step 4: Let the Paint Dry

Allow the paint to dry for at least two hours or according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Clean your brush and roller in the meantime using warm soapy water.
Step 5: Apply the Second Coat

Apply a second coat of paint using the same method as the first coat.

Ensure coverage around the edges and corners of the tiles.
