Drive-in Repair Spike 75 x 75 x 300mm is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be more robust Very difficult to drive into a sawn-off post within an existing concrete base. I thought that’s what repair spikes are all about! I admit I didn’t buy the additional tool - how many of these am I ever going to install? The design could be improved by; - making the “spike” symmetrical about the centre, rather than being a vertical extension of two of the sides. - welding the bottom flanges so they don’t readily open out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy life worked really well, saves a lot of time and effort digging out old posts that are set in concrete

Rated 1 out of 5 by from larger than 75x75 and flimsy, plus nut missing The opening is larger than 75 x75 and doesnt tighten down enough so my posts rock and tilt. there was a nut missing off one bolt so was only able to use 2 of the 3 and the other sits in my shed unused as i did not have time or inclination to go back to the store to get another nut! disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Saved me a lot of time and hard work

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest type to install These are the best type because there are two bolts, one for each plane, so you can drive the socket in with a short length of old post, remove it and then install and adjust the new post for vertical in both planes. Other type have only one bolt or a wedge holder which cannot be easily driven in and adjusted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple post repair Rotten post remains removed from ground, spike hammered in, dry concrete mix poured in middle up to post bottom, post with rotten part removed inserted and bolts tightened keeping post upright all the while! Jobs a good 'un.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved a lot of work I was not expecting a lot from this but was well pleased. The alternative time effort and cost was a decider to try this bodge up item. It looks ok, went in ok, and seems fairly sound. Time will tell what happens when the original fence post stub rots away

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Reasonable repair spur This is a reasonably good repair spur but not as good as the original met post ones. The metal on the spike is not very sharp and it twists very easily as it goes in leaving the post poorly lined up. This can be avoided by having a post fitted with a crossbar to prevent twisting but this requires two people. While the tightening system allows for a variation in post size and removal of the post if required it does not really grip the wood like the old system used to.
