Yacht Varnish 1L is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good end finish The finish was ok, but the varnish is very gloopy and takes a lot of work to brush out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst varnish I have ever used I bought this a month ago from Toolstation and applied it as I have done with similar varnishes to a wood floor. The varnish, unlike previous ones, is gel based and tends to brush on the surface quite thickly even though carefully applied. The varnish did not set even after seven days which caused major inconvenience. Previous yacht varnish bought from Toolstation did not have this problem. The varnish had to be removed with considerable time and effort using a scraper and white spirit. I will not buy this item again and would not recommend it. Toolstation said that the problem occurred because I had applied it too thickly but I see that I am not the only client to have had this problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to apply. I have only used this product once for a project I was doing and it brushed on fine. The project was for a friend so I cannot say about the durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for money! Great value for money with this product. I don’t believe you will find this quality in any other store. For the quantity, 2.5lt, it’s great value. It’s quite thick and gloopy but goes on a treat and dries nicely. I found 2 coats on a bare summerhouse was enough to give it a good protection. Will be buying this again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is not a clear varnish! Bought this varnish to protect my garden table and bench. I painted my furniture a beautiful charcoal grey to match my french doors and fence panels and finished off the job with this varnish. It turned them black! I thought it might dry lighter but no. My furniture is black. If you are varnishing something that is black this is for you. If not, do not use. I'm absolutely gutted. :(
