Paint Panther Paint & Varnish Remover 2.5L is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly effective. Actually does the job. Better than other stuff used in the recent past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product. I am stripping paint off wooden staircase. 2-3 layers of paint so not too thick. If you have 5 layers or more, consider removing most with a hot air gun and only using stripper for what is left. I have not tried this myself. There are 2 factors to consider: - stripping power: compares favourably with Biostrip20 and maybe a little less good than Nemesis. There certainly used to be very powerful strippers around, but these burnt you if in direct skin contact, so this is probably safer. Watch your eyes! - ease of cleaning: compares favorably with Nemesis and same as Biostrip20. Nemesis stripper just moves a little mess from one place to anoter. You can rinse this with water and scrubbing brush even when dry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No good for my application Bought this to remove paint on metal, absolutely useless did not touch it in anyway, probably meant for a different sort of paint maybe? Surely paint stripper is meant to strip paint regardless?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well! I have been foraging reviews for a paint remover to remove paint of wood garden gate. Wood Specialist online Retailer recommend this product. I found being liberally with the gel, working small areas at a time and leaving it no longer than 5 mins before stripping worked well for me. The gel can drip, so care is required and try not to let the gel dry, it will not work and another application required. All in all, very pleased with the product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I still miss methylene chloride When I opened the lid on this I was optimistic because it smelt like the old stuff from years ago that used to eat into your skin if you forgot your gloves. Sadly it turned out to be pretty toothless - as I feared. I was trying to remove some old flaky water-based (I assume) paint from my shed. I applied liberally and went off for and hour to give it a fair chance. When I came back there was some blistering in places but nothing really came away. I finished the can on an area a meter square but nothing to speak of. It's not totally useless but if you really want results mix up a batch of the old stuff using the active ingredients (still available online if you look).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says on the tin Best stripper I have worked with. Used this to refurbish some loudspeaker cabinets and was pleased with the results.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Chemically compromised It’s steady ie slow and won’t easily remove multiple layers without thick and multiple applications. On horizontal surfaces it’s drippy so may be better contained under a plastic film as feasible (like the peel away caustic products) For relatively small jobs it’s fine .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ineffective on some paints Just bought and tried this out on gloss painted, copper 15mm radiator pipes. Followed the instructions on the can exactly - put a thick layer onto the paint, waited 30 minutes and put another thick layer on. Waited a further 30 minutes and no paint bubbling - so wiped the product off the pipe and took the paint off effectively with some wire wool - hopelessly inadequate !
