Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't believe the negative review I bought one of these boxes last year to run my Christmas lights in the front garden. I bought the alternative version which didn't come with the extension cable and timer, as I already had these. The box I bought is otherwise identical to this one. The box lay in its back (or lid uppermost) through the whole of December and half of January, suffering with both rain and snow, and not a drop of water entered it. As with any waterproof product, you need to take care to assemble and close the box properly to ensure that the seals work; I'd guess that the other reviewer failed to do this. I also used a small, cheap padlock to prevent unauthorised tampering. Rest assured, with or without the extension cable and timer, this box can work well, and need not leak!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not waterproof at all This box have only been outside for 3 days and has water inside. For this price I was expecting this box to be better quality especially that you can get them much cheaper elsewhere. I thought they will be some kind of rubber around the area where the box is getting close. The is rubber only where the cable's are going through the box . Very , very disappointed. I don't think this box should be sold as waterproof as it's not. I would be very careful with it as I don't think it's safe .
