How To Measure Your Walls and Floors For Tiles

If you're tiling a floor, measure the width and multiply it by the depth to work out the square metre area.

For walls, measure the width of each wall and multiply it by the height. Repeat for each wall you're tiling and simply add the measurements together to calculate your total area.

Window or door in the way? There's no need to buy extra tiles if you have obstructions taking up some of the space. Simply multiply the width by the height of the window or door, then subtract from the total area.

Don't forget to add an extra 10% too – there'll likely be some wastage when tiles are cut for the edges of the room
