Hawksmoor 25.4cc 30.5cm Top Handle Petrol Chainsaw is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little Chainsaw Great little chainsaw, only slight problem is the bar adjustment isn’t great

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chainsaw Good tool, but only suitable for light use due to plastic control levers and switches

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value small chainsaw. Perfect for small branches. I used it to cut down a cherry laurel that was quite large. The saw itself is great. I would have given 5 stars but the manual wasn't that clear. Specifically it took me ages to find the adjustment screw to control the oil flow to the chain. Also can take a few attempts to get it started but its good value for money and will save me 180 a year not having to get trees pruned.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware this is a poorly built machine. The order went to plan. The assembly went smooth. I filled it with chain oil and the correct mixture of fuel and it failed to start. After repeated attempts it still refused to start, by which time Toolstation was closed. So tried again next day - still no life in the little chainsaw, but overnight it developed a leak from the chain oil reservoir and I had a little pool of chain oil on my garage floor. So I drained all fluids from the chainsaw, and took the think apart and re-packed it to take it back to Toolstation for a refund. No luck Toolstation said that due to health and safety they could not refund me - which is not a legal position to take. They gave me the number of Hawksmoor, but as it was Sunday I had to wait till 09:00 on Monday. I called the number at 09:15 and an answer phone message said they were closed and their opening hours were 09:00 till 17:00. I called again at 09:30, 10:00 and 10:15. At 12:30 the answer phone message changed to they were busy and to contact them through a website. I am now absolutely fed up because no-where is there an option for a refund, and legally Hawksmoor do not have to refund me because my purchase was with Toolstation. So I decided to take the matter into my own hands and diagnosed the problem. The lead to the spark plug was broken and having repaired it and improved the seal on the oil resorvour the thing started and has run since. It has put me off ever buying a Hawksmoor product, but give them their due Tuesday I got an email saying that if I drained all fluids and packed the chainsaw up they would arrange for a courier to collect it. Funny that was exactly the same condition I delivered it back to Toolstation. Why couldn't Toolstation look at the box and see that the chainsaw was packed in plastic and there were no leaking fluids, refund me the money and then send it back to Hawksmoor. I can understand returning something weeks later when it has been used but something not even a day later is beyond me. This is the first item I have ever had to return to Toolstation and they too have disappointed me, and showed a total lack of customer care.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, once all items were provided Would of got 5 star, but, when i got home and opened the bix, the chain was missing. Called up, and was told go back to store and a refund would be possible. When i returned to store, was told that as it was a petrol item, they couldn't accept the return, even though I hadn't put any in. All i wanted was the chain, and didn't want a return, so the guys in the shop managed to get hold of one in another store, but i had to go collect. But once home, the saw is amazing. Very lightwieght for what it is and easy to assemble. Cut through my fern trees with ease. Container that was provided has markings as to the ratio of fuel and oil, so making the mixture was simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ex. value just take the time to set it up right This is an excellent little top handed chain saw and great value for money . Spend a little time setting it up correctly - watch any good chain saw video on you tube to understand chain tensioning. Started with minimal fuss, runs smoothly and is pretty quiet. I’ve used it on both soft wood and more dense beech wood and it’s made short work of loping and topping. Says will cut up to 350mm and used carefully and safely definitely up to the task. Light enough to use one handed providing you are sensible and secure when up a tree, but you need to think carefully about how you are using it on your cuts when working up a tree and your cutting angles and falls of tree limbs 5 stars for its price and what it can do
