Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different connection to others This unit this alarm has a connector which needs to be recessed into the ceiling so if replacing a unit with a connection directly to the base a hole has to be made for the connector. Made replacing a little more difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, clean look and easy to install. Bought to replace old (expired) mains interconnected smoke alarms. I used these with the bases to make my life easier although these are not essential, as there is a mounting base included that the alarms fit into. Note that cables from these are central and you will need choc-blocks (4-pole, LNE and interconnect (if used)) that then need to be shoved up into the ceiling void. The optional base (10991) means that the wiring is within the unit and off-centre, plus there is a better seal on the ceiling, which is handy when replacing old units rather than just fitting new. Very clean design; back-up battery and fixings included as you'd expect. Excellent value.
