It's a durable barrier material that's laid down before you pour a concrete floor to prevent porous cement from absorbing groundwater. Builders use damp-proofing like this in almost every masonry structure to help keep houses dry and floors free from mould.  

The membrane is easy to lay and needs no special skills, so don't worry if you're not a professional builder. It's supplied as a single sheet, which gives you the option to use it as a whole or cut to size. This product is made of 100% recycled polythene, so it has a light carbon footprint. It also holds the BBA stamp of approval, which gives it superior standing in the building industry. If you want to join sheets together, you'll need Damplas joining tape for a water-tight seal.
