How solar lighting works

• Solar panel (PV) captures daylight, converts to DC electricity.
• Energy stores in battery (often lithium, NiMH or SLA).
• Light sensor or dusk/dawn timer triggers LED units at night.
• Motion/PIR sensor raises output when movement is detected in security units.
• Some units offer modes (constant, dim, motion, override).
