What is an SDS Drill?
An SDS drill is a type of hammer drill used for heavy-duty drilling applications in tougher materials such as masonry, concrete, brick or steel. An SDS hammer drill uses a slotted drive system for its chuck, which is designed to fit specialist SDS drill bits.

SDS Plus
An SDS Plus drill is generally the most popular choice when it comes to choosing a rotary hammer drill for smaller holes in general construction jobs. Bits are available in a variety of sizes for SDS Plus drills, and they have a 10mm shank. However, for serious heavy-duty work such as demolition, consider an SDS Max drill – SDS Max shafts are thicker, so will be able to withstand even more torque and force.
