About the Toolstation Trade Credit Account

Q. What is the Trade Credit Account?

The Toolstation Trade Credit account offers trade and business customers up to 60 days interest free credit to help with cash flow, flexible credit limits and online account management. It’s the simple way to buy the tools and supplies you need from Toolstation and pay later. Please note that acceptance for a Trade Credit Account is subject to status and for business customers only. You can have as many additional cardholders as you wish, to allow others to place orders on your behalf.

Q. How do I apply for a Toolstation Trade Credit Account

It’s easy, go to toolstationcredit.co.uk and click ‘Apply now’. Please be sure to have the following details and electronic copies of the required documents ready to upload before starting your application:
  • Full company/proprietor details (including trading name and company registration number where applicable)
  • A copy of ID (valid driving license or passport) for the authorised individual signing the application (proprietor/partner/director). See terms for accepted signatories
  • A copy of your or bank statement dated within the last three months (business or personal)
  • A copy of a company invoice or letterhead (e.g. compliment slip, headed letter)

Q. What’s the difference between the Trade Credit Account and the Credit Card by Barclaycard?

“The Toolstation Trade Credit Account is managed by Toolstation and gives you access to 60 days interest free credit on any purchases made exclusively in Toolstation. You can also manage your payments online and provide your employees with their own cards. If you are a current Trade Credit Card holder (powered by Barclaycard) and are interested in applying for a Trade Credit Account please apply here.

Q. How long does the application take overall?

We will contact you within 5 days of your application, using the email address you have provided.

Q. Can you send me a paper copy of the application form?

Our application form has been designed to make the process as easy as possible and therefore you can only apply online.

Q: My company is not registered in the UK, can I apply for Trade Credit?

For a Trade Credit Account, your company will need to be registered in the UK, as we need company registration numbers and UK documents.

Q.I’m having trouble uploading my documents.

When you upload your documents please make sure: That they are one of the following formats: jpeg, png, pdf. docx, odt. Not duplicate files, or files with the same name. The documents are under 10mb You will not be able to proceed with your application without these documents, as these are needed for security purposes.. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact us on 0300 600 5001 and we will be happy to help.

Q. How long will all cards take to arrive?

Once successful, the main account holder’s card will arrive in approximately 5-8 working days. As soon as you receive your card, you can request additional cardholders who will be able to make purchases on your account. This can be done via your account either on the website or App (more details can be found in the general enquiries section) They will also take 5-8 working days to arrive.

Q. I can’t activate my account password via the link on the email.

Please go to the reset password page and enter the email address that was used to create the Trade Credit account. If you then follow the instructions and sign in, you should be able to access the Trade Credit part of your account. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact us on 0300 600 5001 and we will be happy to help.

Q. Can my credit limit be changed?

Credit limits are offered based on the financial information available at the time of your application. An increase in credit can be requested and reviewed once you have started to use your account.

Q. Why has my application been refused?

There could be a number of factors that have led to your application being declined. This is usually due to the financial information available at the time of your application. You will be notified using the email address you have provided. If there is a change in your circumstances, you may be eligible in the future.

Making Purchases

Q. How do I use my Trade Credit Account?

You can use Toolstation Trade Credit to make orders online at toolstation.com, in any Toolstation store or by phoning the Toolstation Contact Centre on 0330 333 3303. The Toolstation Trade Credit Account is individual to Toolstation and cannot be used in any other Travis Perkins Group businesses or retailers. Orders placed on the website? – Please sign into your account, place your order and select Trade Credit as the payment method. You can either arrange for delivery or Click & Collect your order from your nearest branch. Order over the phone? – Give us a call on 0330 333 3303 and confirm your account details with the customer service representative, specifying that you would like to use your Trade Credit Account Purchase in branch? – You can either present your Toolstation Trade Credit Account card or you can present the QR code for your Trade Credit Account on your smartphone screen to one of our store colleagues when paying for your order. Order by email? – You may find it easier to order online, however if you still need to you can email in your purchase order to us to info@toolstation.com. Please ensure that the person placing the order is the named purchaser on the account and the purchase order has the first line of address, postcode and account number. We will then be happy to process your request.

Q. Will invoices show which additional cardholder placed the order?

Under the order history tab you can see which cardholder has placed the order. This will give you both the name of the cardholder and the order number.

Q. Do I get a discount?

Toolstation aims to supply our goods at the lowest price possible to all our customers regardless and due to this we do not offer a discount.

Managing Your Account

Q. How do I reset my password?

Log in to your account and click the ‘Forgotten password’ link. Enter your email address and we will send a password reset link. Click the link and it will take you to a password reset page where you can enter a new password.

Q. Are cards named individually?

Each cardholder will have their own name and your company name on their card.

Q. Are my account details updated immediately?

The details shown on your account are the most up-to-date information we have, up to the end of the last banking day. Your current balance may not display purchases and payments made in the last 48 hours. This can take a little longer over weekends and bank holidays due to bank operating restrictions.
