Screw Extractors

Screw extractors are specialised drill attachments designed to remove stripped, broken, and seized screws from timber and metal workpieces.

A reverse-thread screw extractor bites directly into the head of a damaged fastener - allowing you to back the screw out cleanly using the reverse mode on your power drill. This internal gripping action removes the broken hardware without damaging the surrounding thread - meaning you can immediately insert a replacement bolt or screw into the exact same hole.

Heavy-duty bolt extractors withstand high torque - giving you the mechanical leverage to remove rusted and seized fixings from automotive parts and outdoor structures.

Stock your kit with complete damaged screw remover sets from trusted trade brands like Draper and Silverline to ensure you are prepared for stubborn fixings.

How Do You Use a Screw Extractor?

Screw extractors can be used with almost all power drills in reverse mode. Before attaching the extractor, drill a hole in the head of the broken screw. Then insert the spiral end of the extractor into the hole, connect the power tool, and use the reverse mode to remove both screw and extractor. You’ll find a quality selection of screw extractors and sets at Toolstation from trusted brands.
