The best treatment for a fence is one that both penetrates the wood and protects the surface. For new or bare timber, a preserver or oil-based treatment helps prevent rot and fungal attack. For previously coated fences, a weatherproof fence paint or stain provides added durability and colour while sealing against moisture.
