Chrome LED Dual Voltage Shaver Light 8W 480lm is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks good, good light but can be impossible to fit I bought this for a customer where I had previously fitted an Eterna shaver light that Toolstation used to stock (Shaver light dual voltage 64146). On removal of the old unit I was left with 2.5 inches of T&E cable (plastered in the wall and tiled over. Because this light is wired from the back, and the backplate is supposed to be refitted after wiring, there is (has to be) excess cable which CANNOT sit under the backplate as the backplate sits flat on the wall. The excess cable must be fed back into the wall (so OK if you have stud wall or plenty of slack) which is impossible with short tails set in the wall. It’s also impossible to feed T&E cable through the small hole in the backplate, into the light unit. (Even if you could feed cable into the unit, it wouldn’t be advisable as the internal design places the rocking switch mechanism very close to the terminal blocks and it would likely jam the pull cord switch.) So if you have fixed short tails, get another light that can be wired from the front or be prepared to leave the backplate off, which will probably invalidate the IP20 rating. So to sum up, a nice light and easy to fit on a stud wall, probably designed by someone who has never fitted such a light in his/her life. If I had been fitting this on a stud wall with long, loose tails I would have given it a 5* rating. You have been warned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good replacement solution I bought this fitting to replace a worn out fitting. The thing is reasonably well made and ticked all the boxes. However, the real reason I gave it 5 stars is to do with how easy it is to replace an existing fitting. The cable entry point is in the middle of the fitting as are the connection terminals. However, the backing plate on this fitting is made of soft plastic which is easy to drill. There is then plenty of room inside the back of the fitting to allow the mains cable to run internally to the connection terminal. Therefore, regardless of the point where the mains supply comes out of your wall - this fitting can be adapted to cope with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product But.... I needed a new shaver light to replace (a different) one that had gone faulty. This light looked perfect for size and the design is quite nice. This one also has a permanent supply to the shaver socket which the old one didn't. You had to have the light on to use. The wiring to this unit was straightforward as the connections are fairly central and there is some room to allow for a small amount of excess cable which you need to make the final connections. The only slight issue for me was the socket being on the left as the old one was on the right. An opposite hand version or perhaps making it reversible would make it better. The but comes from the fact that the diffuser is quite hard to remove and replace and you need to do this to fix it to the wall. It was easier to remove when it was off the wall as the body has a little bit of flex in it but once fixed I found it impossible to replace the diffuser. There are lugs at either end and I tried all ways to get them both in place without success. In the end I had to file down the lugs so they weren't quite so prominent and with a bit of flex in the diffuser itself they finally both pushed home. I hope I don't need to remove it any time soon. An improvement in this part of the design would make this a 5 star item.
