Reviews
Victorian Covered Escutcheon Chrome is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sold,, sightly & good value Once I'd discovered their diameter to be 35mm & the screws 3/4" I bought 12. All were easy to fit, subject to thickness of door wood over that lock. The gold finish evidently obviates the need to polish the underlying brass. 11 were installed for decoration, so the enthusiastic riveting of the cover flaps, preventing their swinging freely under gravity and hence easy insertion of keys plus automatic closing after withdrawal, mostly didn't matter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great look but poor screws. Bought 2 and they are a good match for the original Victorian ones on my other doors. However the screws supplied did not match the countersunk holes, they did not sit flush so I could not close the cover. I had to countersunk the holes which was easy to do. One other small point is that I am sure the Victorians did not have Philips screws.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really Badly made, unusable The first one I was handed at the store was so stiff that the cover did not turn on it's pivot. The second, I fitted. One of the screws was more like a nail, virtually no thread was cut. Once fitted the screw heads do not fit into the countersinks so the cover will not close as it's blocked by the screws! Come on Tolstation, this is terrible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice quality This does the job well, keeps draft. It has a good weighty feel about it and the chrome plating is good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from what the butler couldn't see My existing doors have got keyholes and escutcheon. I upgraded to chrome to match the new door knobs I have fitted. Very good quality and value for money. They also ensure privacy, so hard luck Jeeves!
