Product Details

The fixing is screwed in the pre-positioned installation into the Gypsum plasterboard and gypsum fibreboards flush to the surface.

The sharp, self-tapping thread enables a secure, positive fit fixing. This achieves a high load-bearing capacity. The fischer GKM can hold wood, sheet metal and chipboard screws from 4 to 5 mm thickness as well as different hooks and eye screws. Consequently, it is universally suitable for fixing e.g. lights, electrical installations and fitting accessories securely and quickly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless Product Every time I have tried to self-drill one of these into a plasterboard ceiling it snaps halfway, leaving me to wind out what remains. I tried pre-drilling holes but then the threads collapse because they're not up to job either. Truly a useless product and I'm surprised that Fischer put their good name to it. I solved the problem by buying metal fixings instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor product I suppose that I should have known better than to buy plastic. Useless item as they snap off after screwing them into the wallboard about half way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They're good They're good - personally I think they're better than the metal ones - where it can be difficult to 'drive' the screw in, which causes the 'wiches hat' to destry the hole in the plaster board.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Incredibly poor I questioned the wisdom of purchasing the nylon version of this type of fastner, but decided that if Fischer made them they must be odd quality and "up to the job". How wrong could I be?! The "self drilling" action gets part of the way into the plasterboard before the nylon fails and the fixing shears. Hopefully you catch it in time so you can wind it out again, bin the broken fixing and start again. In 12mm plasterboard I went through 5-6 fixings before getting one to self drill properly and fit flush. Save yourself the aggravation and buy the metal ones

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A must when working in the new timber framed house Tip buy the metal version so you can use as a starter other wise the nylon type can tear in half. Fischer did do a version that had a driver bit that went through and drilled the plaster, but can't find a supplier now!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weak Buy the metal ones, these just snap if the plasterboard offer any type of resistance.
