Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recognisable brand name I clean and inhibit my system about every two years, I purchased this on the reviews and recognisable brand. Yet to use but hopefully as Corgi product and they maintain my boiler it should be of a good quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap But Turned Out to be A False Economy I have previously used Fernox but having a large central heating system (18 radiators) it needs two bottles and was proving rather expensive. Corgi System Inhibitor was about half the price so I thought I would give it a try. Before adding the inhibitor the system was drained down, Corgi Cleanser added, left in to circulate for the maximum duration of one month and then thoroughly flushed. Only a few months after this I decided to paint and fit TRV's to some radiators and partly drained the system for this. Rather than waste the inhibitor I collected and stored the treated water to put back into the system when the job was done. After only a few weeks the collected water stank and a thick scum had formed on top. Although the tank had been thoroughly cleaned when the system was flushed the residual water in the header tank was in a similar condition and very heavy deposits had settled out in the tank. I decided to discard the treated water and top up with fresh. The system had been tuned off for the few weeks it took to complete the job and on firing it up again the boiler kept shutting down before the water got very hot. I can only assume that all the muck that had formed in the system was clogging the flow and causing the boiler to overheat. Fortunately this problem was resolved by putting the boiler temperature to maximum and running continuously for a few hours. The system will be turned of again for a few weeks when we go on holiday and I am concerned that this problem will be back when we return. Suffice to say I shall be flushing the system again and reverting to Fernox which over many previous years has always worked well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Difficult to tell if it works. I bought this as ToolStation don't stock Fernox. I hadn't heard of it, but the plumber said it was a good product. How can you tell whether it works or not?
