How do coach bolts work?

Coach bolts have an enlarged head which helps to prevent loosening, and also stops it from being pulled through the timber. They are secured in place with a matching nut or other threaded insert.

How to fit a coach bolt?

You can fit a coach bolt even with limited access to both sides of the bolt. The head of a coach bolt bites into the timber to prevent it from turning, which means it’s easier to fasten from the nut side.
