Tacwise 400ELS Master Nailer 230V is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the job Just the job. Used for a home fencing job. Worked better than i thought it would for the price. 30 nails a minute is a conservative estimate too. Much faster than that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job well - but . . . This is the second 400ELS that I've bought, it's a great powerful tool and I've found it indispensable in a range of situations. But . . . a) I had to replace it because the individual tracks of the nail magazine wore down, consequently stopping the strips of nails (whatever their length) moving along parallel to the magazine and causing jamming at the tip. Perhaps a more robust alloy would stop this happening. Spare vulnerable parts should be available at a sensible cost. b) The small plastic tips that protect softwoods from damage don't fit securely and quickly simply fall off (& there's only one supplied). c) As with most corded power tools, the case is designed for battery powered ones and cord storage is a pain! The case needs to be redesigned for both power options, perhaps with an channel around the periphery, joining the various empty battery etc. indents. But it is good (which is why I bought another one). I'll just have to watch out for the slightest marking of the magazine tracks and endeavour to find a solution.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute Rubbish After reading negative reviews I still went out and bought this Nailer thinking surely it couldn’t leave nails proud by 3mm. How wrong was I, it did exactly what the negative reviews said. I cannot believe this product is still for sale. It doesn’t work properly, do not buy this product. No issue with tool station giving me a full refund .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'd hoped for better, but does the job, kind of So, I've never used a tack/nail gun and perhaps that's why I'm slightly disappointed. This gun is way louder than I'd expected, but can use plugs. The angled style (that I paid more for to get into corners etc) doesn't allow you to get closer, as the end has to still be pretty near straight, so not sure the angled cartridge helps much. The case is huge, far bigger than needs to be. The rubber boot from the end (that stops it marking wood) gets caught and comes off lots and there are no spares included. But the worst bit, you have to be perfectly flat and have your whole body weight behind it to get it to hit a nail in flush. 99% during a build of two large bookcases this has left nail heads protruding and I've had to seat home with a hammer. Annoying and given the whack this gun throws out, I'm not sure how it fails to recess the nails the whole way, as I'm only nailing soft wood and 3mm MDF! Disappointed to be honest, but has saved me a lot of effort trying to hold and tack stuff etc, so is still ok I guess, just wish it could drive the nails home more. Nice long cable though which is nice, and it's not jammed once on me, via 3 packs of nails. Smaller ones can be a little tricky to load (ie 20mm) as they try to pop up from the first rail so have to be held down whilst loading, but the loading mech is good, quick and easy. If all guns struggle to drive home completely, I'd recommend this one. If most guns can seat the nail in one hit, avoid this one and buy another, evening have to spend more - buy better once!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nicely made but sadly doesn't do the job. I'm used to using compressed air nailers and paslode nail guns. I needed a convenient electric nailer to fix t&g cladding to softwood battens in a very restricted area. I also purchased tacwise 30mm angled nails. The nails load well and easily. The gun appears well made and ergonomic. However, in operation each nail protruded by about 3-4mm from the timber surface which meant I had to go round with a hammer and punch to finish the work. I rang the Tacwise helpline - they obviously know their products and were very helpful but could only advise that I apply more pressure. There is no depth adjuster or means of altering the force applied to each nail and I wonder, reading other reviews, whether there is a variation between different guns of the same model? I'm around 85kg and can apply a fair amount of pressure which I did the next time I used the gun. In order to get the nail to sit flush with the surface I had to apply quite a bit of pressure to the extent that even with the nose protector on there was a mark left on the worksurface. All in all I cannot recommend buying this as I do not consider it to be a time saver. I shall be going back to Toolstation for a refund.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t buy Brought one and fired one nail then wouldn’t fire anymore. Took that one back the next day and was given a replacement one only to have the nails jam every ten nails or so. Also when adding new nails they kept slipping up off the guides and jamming the nail cartridge. Took that one back as well.
