Reviews
Roughneck Twister Wood Splitting Wedge is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Frustrating Bought today, along with a Roughneck Wood Grenade to split some freshly cut, large logs. The Grenade has a point and easily engaged the log and after a few taps to secure it I was able to apply the full pressure of the sledge hammer. The Twister on the other hand was a nightmare to engage the log and continually popped out, I made pilot grooves and had to mess around for ages to get sufficient depth to allow me to apply any force. Once it was embedded in the log it worked OK but the effort particularly compared to the Grenade was ridiculous and very frustrating. Do not waste your money on this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool A lot more accurate and less effort than using an axe. Splits logs right down the middle and rarely gets stuch due to its twisting action. Should have got one sooner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size and shape I had a massive root that I just couldn't work out how to get out. I used the twister with a sledgehammer to split it and break up. I don't know how I would have got it out otherwise

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Twist to make splitting logs easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good tool. Splits soft wood very well. Hard wood needs a good hammer !!! (See review of gorilla roughneck sledge hammer!!!!). Eucalyptus took a few hammer blows, but, prior to this tool, I could not split it at-all!!!!. Therefore, I rate it as very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job Easy to use, a lump hammer or similar is needed as well. As you place the wedge were you want the split, it's more precise than an axe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power and Twist Needed to split up some stump roots after cutting old Leylandi hedge down, to plant new beech hedge. Easily powered into stumps, and with another wedge split it up for removal. Effective power with a sledge hammer, but watch it doesn’t shoot out !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple to used For using on low moisture content softwood logs this works well, all though it was hard to split hardwoods
