Reviews
PVCu Window Restrainer is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not even a pretty ornament, and certainly no use. Purchased over a month ago with the idea of using to secure ground floor window open slightly more than built-in mechanism allows, & still not fitted. Screws (none provided) to fix the opening-mounted bracket would either be so long as to interfere with slider for deadbolts at both ends of the window, or so short they could be easily wrenched out of the PVCu of the frame. Additionally the fixing screws in the opener would be accessible from outside, thus reducing any security provided by the restricted opening of the window. I guess they are only intended to restrain a window from opening too far to prevent someone from falling out. However whilst the latch mechanism itself might withstand someone falling against the window when in use I doubt if the fixings would hold strong if just in the PVCu. Would be better if fitting recommendations were provided by manufacturer, both to assist with product-selection as well as actual installation.
