Rated 5 out of 5 by from Metabo LXTBL 18V drill This drill and impact driver combi pack was purchased to replace a very elderly LXT that has served brilliant over the years, and had a tough life within my oak framing company. The original drill had several annoying faults which are no longer present in the new drill, which make the new LXTBL my perfect cordless drill. The balance has been altered, so the new drill no longer falls over. The daft light has been replaced with two lights that actually show up the work piece, and the poorly positioned forward/reverse switch has been altered, so that it no longer has the potential to snap. It's brilliant to see that the pulse mode remains, and also that the torque and speed setting have been updated. This is a very robust drill, the weight of which inspires confidence in its build quality. The chuck is also class leading in quality. I didn't buy the kit for the impact wrench, and find them all to make a very offensive noise, so that will remain unused. To end, I would add that the battery life of the old drill is phenomenal, and hope that the new ones are just as good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, high quality drills, poor case design Had these for a month now and have been really impressed by them (first time using Metabo). The drill eats through masonry and goes through 2 joists no problem. It has a function where it cuts out if the torque gets too much, you need to release the trigger and squeeze it again, was annoying at first but got used to it now. The driver is pretty powerful, and has a soft start which is nice. The only negative thing is, after spending all that money on a nice drill set, the carry case is badly designed. If you want to have the belt hooks on both drills, the lid doesn't close fully. It'll shut but not cleanly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A sturdy drill and driver I have owned Metabo previously and was replacing my Makita. The price was comparative as others but I was more concerned with the quality of the item. It is heavier than a makita, but the chuck is all metal and feels more robust, the battery life is very good. The one point I would comment on is the carry case, I appreciate that we are trying to reduce the amount of plastic, but the carry case is flimsy poorly laid out and I don't expect it to last too long. box
