Poor quality - returned.
Not an efficient fly killer. Some flew in and landed on the uv tubes and flew out again as tubes can be accessed without touching the high voltage grid. Some contacted the grid and were injured and died some time later after buzzing around the collection tray for several minutes. Some were stunned by the electric shock but subsequently recovered and flew back out into the room. The unit itself hums audibly and this is greatly amplified if placed on a hard surface, e.g. a cabinet top. It also gets quite warm during use as it does not use efficient electronic controllers for the lights. All in all not worth the three quid a month it would add to my electricity bill.

Superficially this looks good, but the following features make it less so. 1. The unit uses the old fashioned choke and starter for the fluorescent tubes. These are less efficient than modern electronic ballasts. Consequently the unit gets hot during operation and would add about £3 a month to my electricity bill. 2. Due to the technology used the unit hums quite loudly and this is considerably amplified by placing it on a hard surface like a cabinet top. 3. Flies can access the uv tubes without passing through the high voltage grid and thus avoid electrocution. 4. The high voltage grid does not efficiently kill the flies. Some are instantly killed, some are left buzzing around in the collection tray until they finally die from their injuries and others lay stunned in the tray for a while before flying back out into the room. All in all, this purchase was a disappointment.
