Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Buy cheap buy twice. This is cheap rubbish. I bought one of these, took it home, sharpened it (as it was blunt as a banana), and split about 5 6 inch thick seasoned Leylandii logs (very soft wood which I usually use a smaller axe to split) and the head snapped off. I thought this was a fluke and must have a faulty shaft so replaced it. Did exactly the same thing with new axe and lo and behold, the same thing happened. The steel of the head seems fine, the profile of the edge is a bit naff though. I think the snapping could easily be avoided if they used a decent wood for the shaft such as ash or hickory rather than beech and actually sold the axes sharp. I'll be saving my pennies and buying a Granfors or a Fiskars. I highly recommend you do the same!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap but not very cheerful The axe head is too clunky even for a log splitter and will need a lot of grinding to get it right before you start

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sturdy & solid I bought this axe for small-personal use, I’ve only used this axe twice since owning it but it seems to be a good, sturdy axe for splitting logs. I’ve put it through it’s paces with some large diameter logs and hardened faces but it seems to takes the brunt ok. It also has a plastic cover just below the axe head to save wooden splitting the shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality - great value! Bought it to split large logs having had a tree felled in the garden. Delivery to the door was included in the price and it arrived within two days of placing the order. I could not be more satisfied.
