Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design and only takes straight branches! Well I just waisted £99..... It states it takes up to 40mm.... Yes true if every branch you want to shred is perfectly straight and round. The mouth of the machine has one 40mm hole offset to one side that narrows to about 30mm and over all around 150mm wide so anything with a bend and twig sticking out won't go through. I tried shredding a thorn bush which had nothing near the maximum thickness diameter and it clogged the mouth straight away. It worked better on the conifer tree but I needed to do a lot of preparation work first.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless Bought this last week, quick delivery. Assembled the machine as instructed, plugged it in - didn't work. Tool it back to local Toolstation in Perth. Ordered replacement with next day delivery. Still waiting so can't rate performance yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product easy to use does exactly as required Great little product for the DIY /Gardener. Easy to assemble, easy to use and does the job at hand. The instructions could be a little clearer, the parts and the instructions are not that easy to follow, but to be honest what bloke reads them anyhow. The wheel assemble instructions needs to be clearer. Operationally its an easy tool to use, the noise is not to bad and the cutting is pretty good. obviously its only good for medium sized branches and i did get some jams with little off shoots, but clearing jams is a straight forward affair as well. In essence perfect for my needs and thoroughly recommended for the DIY gardener, Would not suit commercial use for larger trunks and foliage

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oversold I bought this based on a good specification and reviews. Unfortunately it would be quicker to use secateurs for the varied selection of privet, bramble, fir tree, bamboo and whatever else I had to hand. Some material was freshly cut, some was fairly dried out. The machine proved to be slow and often failed to grab the material to pull it through. I gave up with this machine as progress was too slow and awkward. A bitter disappointment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. Loves woody waste Bought it to replace my old garden shredder that gave up after 15 years of abuse. This is great for twigs and branches and makes easy work of other green waste. Pleased I chose this one. Would recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not fit for purpose I bought this on the strength of the mostly positive review comments on the Toolstation website. I have many great Einhell products in the cordless range. However this mains shredder really will only take pre-cut pieces that are straight and thin enough which have already been cut up by hand into suitably narrow pieces with nothing like a bend or notch that will catch on the feeder. Unless you want to make wood chipping a for some other purpose I cannot see the point of the unit. By the time you have chopped everything up you might as well just place it in the bag provided and miss out the time consuming shredding.
