Einhell GC-PM 46/2 S HW-E Self Propelled Petrol Lawnmower is rated

Does the job
Easy to assemble and to operate. Appears well made and reasonable value for money. Does not have a mulching facility. Note that once fuel has been put in the product any problems can only be dealt with by the manufacturer as, so I was told, Toolstation cannot take back fueled products. Hopefully I won’t have a problem.

Impressed or unimpressed? That be the question!
As usual with Tool station your goods are on the doorstep before you have left the website. Always impressive.
The mower? Well, very mixed feelings about this.
Well packaged and heavy so you need a second body especially getting it out of the box.
2 instruction booklets, possibly very comprehensive but I have not read either.
Ten minutes to put together, fill with petrol and oil and orf you jolly well go.
Large sturdy steel height adjustment making life easy and a positive lock so no movement.
Thick heavy blade and a very good cut.
Starts well with the key start. Have not tried the pull cord but hey, why would I?
Engine sounds powerful with no missfiring.
Large grass box saving too many emptyings but it's heavy when full.
Here endeth the good points.
The starting safety feature means that there is no engine idle. It's either running or off and when running, it's always at full throttle. This means when you engage the clutch it will take your arms off if you are not ready to walk. It also means that turning at the end of a run can be scary. If you stop to move a pot or whatever you have to restart the engine. Not a problem with the key start but unnecessary I feel.
Another setback with the lack of throttle adjust is that the walking pace is set, so if you have a long run you are unable to crack on and if you feel like a leasurly stroll, tough!
The first twice I used the mower the clutch was sticky and did not always release, so I had to hang on for dear life to avoid it from falling into the steam. My only saving grace
was the poor grip of the drive wheels especially on damp grass. The clutch problem seems now to have resolved itself.
Having said all the above, it is my first petrol mower so perhaps I am expecting too much.
I am able to and will modify the machine to do what I feel it should.
In conclusion, the mower feels like a robust piece of equipment that should give good service.
Oh, something I forgot to mention. I have done a fair amount of mowing so far for not a lot of fuel. Pity my car is not as economical.
