Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bench drill Decent bench drill for the money. I use it mainly for drilling through wood. It does stop if you put too much pressure on it. Only gripe I have is that the chuck sometimes falls out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its what you pay for... I have only had it a few days so why they invite you to review it so early I don’t know. However, I won’t be making components for a Swiss watch with it so I am sure it will serve my purposes for DIY. It appears to be solidly built machine. There is a little slack on the drive shaft above the chuck when lowered but doesn't appear to impact providing you make a decent dent with a centre punch first. When the shaft is fully retracted its solid with no movement at all and the same when its fully extended. Maybe the slack can be taken up with some sort of adjustment? The three lowering handles keep coming lose that will probably need some lock- tight to cure it. Changing the drive belt is easy enough but to get the belt tensioned correctly is an art I will have to master with time. Never owned a bench drill before but wish I had of done now. Up to date I have drilled mild steel and mahogany three inch thick. Great to be able to get a straight hole without deviating off at an angle with a hand drill! Overall, I am very pleased with it for the money, up to now. I purchased a DRAPER socket set in the early sixties and still serves me today, along with a DRAPER center punch! The fifteen product reviews were not available on the website for some reason. Cannot rate reliability at this stage so only three stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bolt-Down Press for Lighter Materials My experience of Draper machines is that they last well and the drill shaft cuts straight without too much lateral movement. The depth gauge is a bit fiddly - it's basically 2 nuts which you tighten together and can work loose unless it's really tightened. As sometimes happens with this type of drill the handles can work loose (come unscrewed). Works well on fine grain wood although it has seized once so I wouldn't recommend it for heavy use.
