Description

Meets bylaw 49 requirements. Low thermal conductivity/thicker wall, cuts heat loss by over 75%. 3 x 1m pack. Dimensions are bore size x total thickness.

Water Byelaw 49 Pipe Insulation 22mm x 19mm (3 Pack) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good thick insulation Seems to be a decent product. Comes pre-slit. 25mm thick walls, providing a good level of frost and heat-loss protection. I would only use the thinner stuff if the pipework were clipped to a wall using standard clips without spacers. Standard pipe clips only give 1/2" clearance from the wall, so 25mm of insulation will not fit behind a pipe that has only 1/2" clearance, but thinner insulation than this in unheated areas is not a good idea. Secure in place with 300mm cable ties, or duct tape. Can be cut with sharp knife or a hacksaw blade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why would you use anything less? Comes in 1m lengths which is the only disadvantage. The thermal conductivity is not stated, but I would reasonably assume that the conductivity is sufficiently low to satisfy the requirements of the Water Regulations (which have now replaced the Water Byelaws) for insulation of pipework in unheated sections of buildings. I have used a lot of this product, both for pipework in lofts as well as for insulating hot pipework. The wall thickness of the insulation is 19mm, to fit over 22mm pipework, so the overall diameter is 60mm. The product is pre-slit. (Why am I writing the product specification for Toolstation?) I only wish there were the option of a thicker wall, as it would be good for primary runs to hot water cylinders, and for hot water draw-off pipes. But then I am obsessive about reducing heat losses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used on trampoline Not used this on pipes as it's intended, replaced the damaged foam on the uprights that hold the net on the kids trampoline. Works a treat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pipe lagging Bought this for frost protection and heat loss reduction. Thicker than cheaper alternative and easier to fit around pipe coupling for better insulation. Generally needs piecing around fittings and taping to seal the cut line if installing on existing pipes and where pieced together

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great insulation This is so much better than the cheaper insulation and would be so good at the poles.
